Why is it always one step forwards and three steps back?

Dear Siters;

 

After many hours of frustration, I was able to get usps version 4 to work. BUT, in a sample purchase, I then clicked continue. Guess what? The payment page was blank.

 

I tried loading usps version 4 on a fresh osc and another version of the same store. I got the new one to work, but the same problem as above - no checkout_payment. On the other one, usps looks normal EXCEPT for the blank min and max boxes and the word "array" in the first one. It will not remember what I check. This very same problem was posted under the official thread, but I saw no response directed towards it.

 

So, any suggestions on either of these problems:

1) no payment page on checkout

2) "Array" and blank min/max boxes in usps v.4

 

I really need to get one version/copy fully operational, not five copies, each with only one module that works. Thank you for your help.
