Cart in header issues with IE

I've been having some issues with some pseudo-code (could also be termed "spooky", and /or semi-functional).

I've got it working for the most part, but my checkout button doesn't work from the header in Internet Explorer. Here it is..

   <td align="right" valign="middle"><?php echo ' <a rel="nofollow" href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART, '', 'SSL') . '">' . ( HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS) . '</a>' ;  ?>
<br>
<b><?php
 echo $cart->count_contents() . ' ' . 'Items' ;?>
<br><b>
<?php echo $currencies->format($cart->show_total());
 ?>
<br>
<?php echo '<a rel="nofollow" href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' .'<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Checkout">' . '</a>' ; ?>
</td>

Any thoughts, ideas, or general ridicule is welcome.

Get rid of the input button.

<?php echo '<a rel="nofollow" href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">checkout</a>' ; ?>

Style this appropriately.

Thanks Burt,

Of course that works, but now I don't have a cute little button there. I guess the input button is really an html thing instead of OSC and that's the difference right?

This actually looks much better than the html thing anyway.

Thanks for the tip!

<?php echo '<a rel="nofollow" href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . tep_image_button('button_checkout.gif', IMAGE_BUTTON_CHECKOUT) . '</a>'; ?>
<?php //echo '<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . tep_image_button('button_checkout.gif', IMAGE_BUTTON_CHECKOUT) . '</a>'; ?>

Stolen code from my own shopping cart page.
