Hi,

I'm using osc 2.2 Rc2a. I haved copied my whole canadian website (with osCommerce coding) to a new newZealand domain.

I installed the SSL certificate with GoDaddy website and I have Uploaded the Certificates in Website.

I managed to change the configuration.php file with new paths adn all other details.

But still when i use my website like when I start using osCommerce Pages for example ( checkout_shipping.php and rest all other pages) it say SSL Ceritificate error and if i click Proceed anyway it tranfers me to canadian website where i copied the code from.

I tried reinstalling the certificate but nothing is helping me.

I don't whether something like code needs to be changed because i copied the whole osCommerce site from one domain to another domain.

Please help me. Urgent.

I've stucked with this for 2 days.

Thanks in advance

Viewing the certificate error in the browser, it says the cert. you are using is issued to the .ca (Canadian) site, thus the error.

Despite what you might think, you're using the wrong cert.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your reply.

But I uploaded the certificates i website and on server in IIS i have installed the cerificates.

Can you Please tell me how can i use the correct ceritificate for the website.

Here is my website link.

www.omnitrack.co.nz

when you go to the website try to click on a product displayed on left menu and try to purchase it ( click Buy Now button)

And just click the cart button near the quantity box .

When you click on GO TO CHECKOUT it will show you the certification error and if you click on PROCEED ANYWAY button it will forward it to you to the Canadian Website.

If you can please check the link and tell me what the error is exactly with ( whether with osCommerce code or certification thing).

Please I'm really blind.

Thank You.

You can't use the SSL cert from your old domain because you changed to domain name.

SSL certs are domain name dependant.

If you change the domain name you need a new cert

Looks to me like you're trying to use the cert issued to your old domain on the new domain.

That will not work.

Hi Jim,

Thank for your reply.

I bought new SSL from Godaddy website and I'm using that.

I just copied entire coding from oscommerce Canadian website[www.omnitrack.ca] domain into new New Zealand domain [www.omnitrack.co.na] instead of creating a new osCommerce website .

Because there are of addons used in Canadian website and i need to use the old data aswell. So I just copied everything from one domain to another.

But carefully I modified the configure file and database details and the site was working but it was using the old certificate .

When I install the new SSL certificate to the site, still the site has the same error if you try to proceed it transfers to old canadian website where I copied the code from.

And it still showing the same error.

That's what I think is something like any code needs to be changed on osCommerce rather than the config files and rest what you suggested???

Thank You.

The cert you are using is from/issued to your old domain, regardless ot what you belieive.

Precisley what do you not understand about that?

As long as that is true, it will never work.

Hi Jim,

I see that.

I know that and that's wat make me to think so fishiy that, is there any need of change in code (oscommerce) or it is all domain things.

Thank you.

The code is correct. The cert is the only thing amiss.

Bala, there is nothing within osCommerce that directly cares about the SSL certificate. Your browser and server are the ones that check that the certificate is being used with the domain that it was issued for. If they don't match, SSL doesn't like that. You have a certificate issued for www.omnitrack.ca that you could use only with https://www.omnitrack.ca. If you try to use that same certificate with https://www.omnitrack.co.nz, it ain't gonna work.

If you purchased a new SSL certificate for www.omnitrack.co.nz and had it properly installed under https://www.omnitrack.co.nz, it is possible that you have some misconfiguration in your osC that is still looking for site domain www.omnitrack.ca. It would most likely be in the two includes/configure.php (catalog and admin) files, where you have forgotten to change omnitrack.ca to omnitrack.co.nz in one or more places. Double check that. Has the www.omnitrack.ca certificate expired or is it still in force? You said you "uploaded the certificates in website" -- did you do some of the certificate installation, or was it all handled by your host? If you did some of it yourself, possibly you uploaded (at least partly) the .ca certificate rather than the .co.nz certificate. Is this on the same server as your .ca site? Can GD help you with debugging your SSL certificate installation?
