Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi I know I post a lot and agree it's not on really and only come here as are a lot of experts on here in oscommerce and want to learn from you guys as well as on my learm not fair I keep pestering you guys for help but some things I just get stuck on I am sorry for posting a lot and not giving back, wish I could, would love to give back somehow I got 2 small issues currently on the website www.newtests.co.uk First is there is a massive gap on the right for some reason, I always thought this was because of a missing div tag or one too many div tags somewhere but have used a div tag tracker tool and says all divs are matched up I have gone all through the coding on the header.php, template_top.php, index.php pages and can't see anything I have been looking for ages believe me, this was my last resort coming here asking for help The second issue is the buttons at the top where it says cart contents etc, they should be in a blue rounded shape button but for some reason they are not and to me that says the site is not picking up on the css stylesheet for that theme which is the redmond theme that is already in the the coding in the template_top.php file Know it is a cheek to ask and that but am stuck on this and want to learn and know for next time as have been learning and issues I have had in the past I have learned and solved on my own Kind regards Ian
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I have managed to reduce the gap by quite a bit but still a small gap is there and also the buttons at the top are still as text links and not buttons
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 HJave solved the issue with the buttons at the top now, just the scrollbar along the bottom, have a tiny gapy and not sure how to get rid of it I just noticed a issue with footer, is not in the center of the page but should be able to sort that out
♥joli1811 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi Ian, Make the large image smaller 950px max and it will line up. You have not allowed for the 5 pixel buffer at either side of the container To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi John Do you mean the logo or the slideshow image How do I allow for the 5 pixel buffer either side of the container or when I make the image smaller to 950px, will that take care of the 5 pixel buffer issue
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi John I just checked and the logo is only 567 wide and the slideshow image is 936px but I have made it to 850px
♥14steve14 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Ian If you right click the slider image it is showing at 960 x 400 pixels. On an oscommerce page there is a 5px gutter used each side of the page, so you will have to make the image at least 10pixels narrower. Somewhere there will be something to make the slider image show smaller depending on which slider you used. This could be in the admin area, javascript file or in a stylesheet. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi Steve I have reduced the slideshow down to 840px wide but still getting the scrollbar at the bottom
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Problem solved now Thank you for all replies etc Kind regards Ian
