2.3 or 3.0?

Hello forum. I'm new here and just getting started with osCommerce. I'm starting up a brand new website.. should I just start out with the 3.0 version and its documentation or should I go with 2.3? Thanks.

3.0 is a somewhat unstable Developers only version.

 

I suggest that 2.3.3 will be the weapon of choice for you.

You will need to ensure that you keep on top of updates (eg when 2.3.4, 2.3.5 comes out).
