gddevey1012 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi everyone i am having some issues with my install of Oscommerce, following a hack attempt i have done a backup restore and this has not solved the issue either. Whenever i click on any product i get the message input file not specified, this also occurs in the admin panel when i click the catagory. the site itself seems to be working fine apart from this issue however i appear to have done something to the site when i did the backup restore but i will sort this. any help will be greatfully recieved as i have reaserched this and the general rule of it being a safe url issue is not the case as my site is already set to false Website address is http://www.xtreme-rc.org.uk Regards Gareth Devey
♥joli1811 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi Gareth, Have you thought of now taking the opportunity to upgrade to the 2.3 versions as there are many security holes in the older osc versions The site does not seem to be heavily customised so really not that big a job. regards Joli To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
gddevey1012 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 very much considered this however there are over 20000 products listed on my clients site and they do not want to have to relist them (cant say i blame them lol)
multimixer Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 @@gddevey1012 You can move over to a new osCommerce version and keep all of your products, orders, customers etc Sure, you can't blame your client, but you could advice them properly My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel

Any idea where i can get the info to do the upgrade using the existing database ?
multimixer Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 @@gddevey1012 Yes, there are some changes in the structure - nothing really complicated or so - and some new tables Best is you compare a new 233 DB with the ld one you have in a file comparison tool If the old store has no addons installed, the whole process is not complicated. In case of add ons, you need either to take the info out of the old DB or use the same addons in the new store There are a couple of topics in the forum that discuss this My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
gddevey1012 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 not looking good at all ! had a go at migrating the database but i cannot solve it and i think i may have messed it up now, wish i hadnt tried lol
