audioproman Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Hi I have been modifing v2.2 so it uses just attribute price and not product price (set to 0) I sell audio leads and manufacture them in many different lengths. I do have a site running but not happy with the way it is setup as it displays a product page for each length of lead so really needs altering as it is time consuming putting all the lengths this way. I'm sure this is bad for the SEO as it is the same page over and over again...... I wanted to use attributes with prices and just have one page for one lead with different lengths. I wanted to be able to display prices in a drop down menu which it just a case of filling in the attributes. Example I could have a mic lead in these lengths 1m 5.99 2m 6.99 3m 7.99 4m 8.99 and so on... up to 25m I have added http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1716 and this works fine (This contrib shows a whole price not the + price) What is needed either: A Display the price of the first attribute on the cat page and product page and add the words 'Prices From' in front of the price. Or B Display the drop down attribute price as a drop down menu where the cat page price would be and the product page price. Is there a way of doing either? What is the best way to do it? - Would really like some suggestions. Can anyone see any issues with just using attribute prices? I have really had a good look around google etc to find a way but came a cross many problem like prices not displaying in the attributes when the product price is removed... but really need one for customer satifaction even if it is for the cheapest lead which would be the shortest. If anyone can suggest something that would be really great... Cheers Stu

Chris Thanks. How would I remove the base price text? and would the attribute price still show the in the cat and product pages? Is there a way for OSC to pick up the first price in the attribute? Make it look at the first attribute price - I did try but make the attribute prices 0 as it looks at the product price first. (Chris the barcode contribution worked a treat) Cheers Stu
Guest Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 @@audioproman Hi Stu, Well, now you are talking about some major code changes. My aforementioned suggestion would allow the actual price to be displayed and the base price removed from the product into page but, the other things depend on your code (which I know is heavily modified) Chris
