Product Options/Product Attributes ?

Many of our products have various options that add to the price, similar to a car. Trying to figure out how to show those options and let the customer select which ones they want based on product or dreamworld category/subcategory. I understand product attributes exist but not sure that's going to fit what I'm trying to do. I'm looking to do something similar to http://www.onlinevending.com/catindex/items/C100-62-2.html?.

 

I guess I could use the cross sell but I'm also trying to find something that makes it a bit easier as well.

While we're, hopefully, discussing attributes can someone tell what this means?

Put in an attribute with 2 options and tried assigning to a product.

I see support for osCommerce is non existent no responce since Jauary I wonder of I shouldn't abandon it all together
