Changing the logo in admin section

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm running on MS2.2 and I'm trying to change the oscommerce logo (oscommerce.gif) in my admin section to my store logo (have tried both gif and png). My logo file has its own name and it shows fine in my store. I found the code refering to the oscommerce.gif in admin/index.php and I changed it to my logofile. When opening the login page of admin, I see that the oscommerce logo has disappeared, but my logo does not show. Only the "missing image" box is showing, and when you mouse-over, it refers to my logo.

Anybody know how to change logo for the admin section, both the first blue index.php page and also for the other admin pages?

Thanks :-)

Best regards

If you over-wrote the oscommerce.png file (/admin/images/) with your file, it would show up. No code edits required. Just ensure you file is also named oscommerce.png.

My logo is called logokjolebutikk3.gif and is saved as: admin/images/logokjolebutikk3.gif. I have this code in admin/index.php:

<td height="50"><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'logokjolebutikk3.gif', 'Kjolebutikken logo', '204', '50'); ?></td>

And in admin/includes/header.php:

<td><?php echo tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'logokjolebutikk3.gif', 'Kjolebutikken logo', '204', '50'); ?></td>

Still does not show :-( Do I really need to name it oscommerce.gif? I will try that also ofcourse :-9

Thank you both :-)

Best regards

OK, I tried naming the image file oscommerce.gif and calling this in the code instead. Did not work.

Also tried with oscommerce.png. Also did not work.

Also tried uploading a new image file in case it was broken, but still this did not work.

Ok, if you uploaded a new oscommerce.png file to the /admin/images/ directory.....IT MUST WORK. Ensure you CTRL-F5 the page to clear your browser cache to see the updated page.

Nope, sorry, did not work.

Also tried with oscommerce.gif, since the original code refers to oscommerce.gif, not oscommerce.png (I run version MS2.2), but neither does work.

Is there some other files I need to edit maybe?

When I mouse-over the empty image box, is refers to the correct image file, but still the image box is empty.

I think I have found the problem, but I do not know how to solve it. When I look at the page source code I get this for the admin pages where the image will not show:

<td height="50"><img src="product_thumb.php?img=images/logokjolebutikk3.jpg&w=204&h=31" width="204" height="31" border="0" alt="Kjolebutikken logo" title="Kjolebutikken logo"></td>

It seems like it is looking for the image on product_thumb.php? How can I remove this? I cannot find anything refering to this in the c ode for the admin/index.php.

For the catalog/index.php, which shows fine, there are no reference to the product_thumb.php and here the logo shows fine. This is how the source code looks like for this page:

<img src="images/logokjolebutikk3.jpg" width="421" height="64" border="0" alt=" Kjolebutikken " title=" Kjolebutikken ">

OK, I solved the problem. The reason for the logo not showing, was that I a long time ago had installed the contribution "On the fly thumbnailer with cache". I either had to disable cache in admin/product_thumb.php, OR add a new folder: admin/images/thumbnails and set the permissions for the folder to 777.
