SharperJacks Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 How would we go about making it so that with each category has its very own unique design as well as within each category the products of that particular category will have its own design? For example An electronics category will have its own design page specific to electronics and all of the products within that electronics category will have the same product info design but it will relate to its specific category. We have tried to find some kind of template system but we have had no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? Our Oscommerce version is 2.3.1 Thank you for any feedback.

multimixer Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 That would be possible. Say a store have 2 (or more) main categories, A and B. All subcategories and products of A have one design while all of B have an other while keeping at the same time some common elements so that they can be identified as parts of the same store Question here would be how exactly each design should be, this can be simple like different background colours, different ui theme etc, or more complicated like a completely different layout Al in all certainly possible My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
SharperJacks Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Yes we believe it is possible the closest thing we could find to do something like this was with this addon called Simple Template System found here http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1524 Only problem is that it is not compatible with our Oscommerce version. We have looked at the contrib you have posted toyicebear it might be a good place to start from but we would like to find something that is more developed.

multimixer Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 but we would like to find something that is more developed. I don't think there is anything readily available at this time. I think it is How easy and fast the separate designs can be achieved depends on how different the designs should be and what areas they should affect. Is it just about different colours, background image, banners etc ? My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
