hagueerica Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Is there an addon to integrate facebook login and google login to an osCommerce site? I am new to osCommerce and could not find such add-on. If it doesn't exist, could someone please share some tuitorials to integrate social media?
Guest Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Hi In the add ons section, look for social login, this does what you need
Gregganderton Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I tried integrating it by myself and it is really a tedious task as you have to manage every login by your self. Recently, I came across this new add on (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8306) and it solved all of my problem. Not only I can integrate facebook and google login but other popular logins like twitter, linkedin, myspace and others. It also captures user profile data and simplies the whole registration process. I would recommend it for all the osCommerce stores. Also, a very good support to help you out everytime
thejudge99 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 The problem with the loginradius addon is that all the extracted customer infos first get sent on to a 3rd party - which for me is a no go - and the reason for me to write one myself - no 3rd party or special account needed ( other than with facebook /google) http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/388392-contribution-social-login-with-facebook-google-2312/
anshikasharma192 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I went ahead with LoginRadius. even though it is 3rd aprty solution, it provides me with the convenience of implementing social login. Also, they provide best way to manage data privacy with REST, https and other ways.
Atwoodz-eCommerce Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Depending on your situation I would generally recommend a full custom solution, or at least a customized solution. Sending your customer data to a third-party might not sound like a big issue, but that likely means that you do not have enough customers at this point for that to be a concern; or it could be for someone else's websites. You can tie-in directly using the Facebook API, and Twitter has the same features available. You can add the functionality you are looking for by using the supplied API's, without having to use a third-party supplier and protecting your customer's data. There are some great custom modules that do an amazing job of not only using the social log ins, but it also makes the posts and other items directly through the back-end of any osCommerce store. That same custom module also works with the third-party e-mailers, it allows for full control of email campaigns and such from the back-end of osCommerce. Matt D. Atwoodz Atwoodz osCommerce Experts
