"New Products of Month" infobox with special prices v2.3.x

Hello

 

Having just upgraded from v2.2. to version 2.3.3 the one bug I couldn't fix was the New Products of Month infobox on the homepage. Could only find old contribution for v2.2 and found featured products was not working. So finally sorted the code and would love someone to check it over and make sure its fine before adding as a contribution.

 

I'm not a coder and never posted on the forum so sorry if not a good code or forum post.
