Its not that it does not work, its that something like headertags seo will do that and a lot more besides. You may well end up adding headeretags seo anyway, as it will help with osnite seo of your store. Also Jack that replied to your post earlier also wrote this module and keeps it updated, and also is very good on the support forum.
