Does anyone know how to fix the module which displays timezone

Recommended Posts

This is my site http://www.africanmoviestar.net/

Warning: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EST/-5.0/no DST' instead in/home/african/public_html/includes/languages/english.php on line 248

Warning: mb_substr() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/african/public_html/includes/modules/boxes/bm_whats_new.php on line 65

Pleas can someone help me...thanks

Your host has upgraded to PHP 5.3, and it requires a proper timezone setting. Ask your host how to set up a php.ini file (or the equivalent) with the following entry:

date.timezone = 'America/New_York'

(or whatever your proper timezone name is, see http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.america.php). That's the easiest way to do it. Or you may be able set a TZ environment variable. Worst case is that you would have to add an ini_set() call in application_top.php to set the timezone.
