♥altoid Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 running w3c html validation on a 2.3.3 shop i am seeing some errors such as: Line 488, Column 1276: there is no attribute "data-href"…g-plus" data-action="share" data-href="http://www.myshop.com/sierra-dog… and Line 488, Column 1404: there is no attribute "data-annotation"…-backpack-p-172.html" data-annotation="bubble" data-height="20" data-align="le… there are other errors but for now i am wondering how to deal with the attribute issues that w3c says exist. these appear to be coming from the includes/modules/social_bookmarks files any ideas? I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can. I remember what it was like when I first started with osC. It can be overwhelming. However, I strongly recommend considering hiring a professional for extensive site modifications, site cleaning, etc. There are several good pros here on osCommerce. Look around, you'll figure out who they are.

Do a search on google for 'google+1 code not validating' and you should find your answer. I did before I posted, as well as the other social media sites that are not validating due to the attribute issues. I searched attribute validation as well. Unless I missed something what I found was the attributes in the code aren't valid. Thanks, actually I had such a google button based on Burt's code from over at club oscommerce and it works fine. But the issues I am asking about are originating from the links from within existing social bookmarks module that comes with the 2.3 series. I am up to 2.3.3 and installed the social bookmarks module to see what that was like. That's when the html validation errors showed up. My inquiry is more of wanting to understand the basis for the validation issues in that the code is stock osC not from any add on or mod. I will probably disable that module and place the social bookmarks manually if necessary but for now I was wondering if this was the basis for the errors so if it comes up later I'll know more about dealing with it.
