need to add vendor part number search in catagory listing

Thanks for all the support in the past.

 

I would like to be able to search by the vendor part# or vendor product id.

 

I was able to add the vendor part# associated with my product id in the product listing in admin, but I cannot figure how to get the search done.

 

All help is greatly appreciated.

if you use the 'Model Number' field as your vendor part# the the default search field will work

Well I took a look at that, and I think that would entail me having to go back to my 1600+ products and changing each model number to my vendor number. I am using mulit vendor.

 

I am really looking for a way to just add the search on vendor part number. vendors_prod_id
