osmyrna Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I am considering upgrading my hosting to a new VPS which will involve going from php/mysql 4.x to 5.x - I am using OSCommerce 2.2 with remove credit card info, add cvv and issue number, purchase without account, and other basic add-ons. I understand that going from one version of php/mysql can cause problems with database inquiries and webpages. Can I anticipate any particular difficulties? Would I be best off just staying put (w00t) ? Thanks for any help.
Guest Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 @@osmyrna 1) if you are using v2.2 RC2a, then you can patch it to be PHP 5.3 compatible. Anything older than RC2a, you should create a new site using the latest stable release. 2) you should NOT be using ANY credit card module on your site unless you are PCI DSS Compliant (which you can't be on a shared hosting plan) Chris
