Non existing category returns a 200 OK

Recommended Posts

So I am using the Ultimate SEO Contrib and my problem is that I have removed a category say;

But when I go to that site I want a 410 Code to be returned, instead I get a 200 OK return and an empty page (well has the header, footer and sidebar but nothing in the middle as all the category info has gone. If a category has been deleted this should not happen, what can I do to send out a 410 Code?

Any ideas? Thanks!

Check out the header command in PHP. There are two examples (depending on your server setup) of how to return a 404 on the documenation page: http://php.net/manual/en/function.header.php

If you need more help, you might want to ask in the contribution thread. You are going to want to change how the contribution handles invalid category IDs.

Always back up before making changes.
