Download-only Products

Newbie alert

OK, I've been playing with this great package for a couple of days on and off, have read quite a few threads on different matters which managed to answer most of my initial questions, but now I need to ask for help :o

I'm trying to set up a test shop that only sells ebooks  and so all products are download only.

I've installed the Downloads Controller mod, which seems to have helped, but adding a new product seems to be a really long-winded process - obviously I'm missing something

What's the simplest way to be able to add new ebooks?

Currently I'm having to:

1) Add the product (weight 0 etc.. for free shipping), then

2) Add Product Attributes to each product

Only then can I buy a product and gain access to download it.

What am I missing or is this the only way to enable the download of a product? Is there a mod for download only shops?? (If not I'll post it all when I'm done :D )

Cheers,

FastFreddy

Long cup of coffee ... clean ash tray ... carton of smokes ...

Not sure if there is an easier way.

You can look into Easy Populate see if that is any faster.

The Attributes Sorter and Copier helps in some ways, but I don't have it doing anything special on downloads.

Somewhere you need to get those names in.

Problem is in the having to associate attributes to each and every product added - I thought I'd be able to just add products and if their weight was set to 0 that they'd be treated as download. That's all I want...

Even better would be a checkbox to mark as "download only" when entering a new product :D
