Guest
OK here we go.... :) On my site I sell calling cards. I have it set up so you have 2 options for getting the information. You can either have the calling card information E-mailed to you which is free or you can have the cards mailed to you (which cost the customer money!) However the only way i Have been able to get this to work is set the flat fee to 0 and use the USPS and UPS shipping modules. However when people order other products on my site they see the free shipping (flat rate) and ALWAYS PICK IT> (who wouldn't) I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on another way I can do this or how I can offer (E-mail verse standard mail) I have created the drop down box for now so the cust can notify me how they would like to get the information but this is a work around for now. Thanks in advance for all help!
webz
I too have a similar situation. I have some products that I ship free but have others that I don't. I am not sure as I have not tried this mod with 2.2 ms1 but it looks promissing. There are several forms of Free Shipping. osC provides one based on when Order $Total > $XX there is free shipping. tables could be used for free shipping. The Free Shipping and Payments modules I wrote that come with Downloads Controller v5.3 are written based on cart weight. When cart weight= 0 then Free Shipping only shows. When cart weight > 0 then Free Shipping disappears. Other methods for Free Shipping can be customized as well. I have done several for clients where there is Free shipping on orders of $XX amount except when certain products are ordered. Basically those products are Always Shipping products. Everything in the cart that is not an Always Shipping when a certain $total is reached is removed from the shipping cost. You can download this mod in contributions. Ajeh
Try the Downloads Controller v5.3 if your payment methods have the orders_status setting on them ... MS1 and a couple weeks prior.
Guest
webz, I have it set up now that free shipping will appear for 0 weight but then Free shipping is the ONLY option. So if I put my product at Zero weight Free shipping is the only option. Is there a way of doing if product Attribute = e-mail then make free shipping = True... Check out my site and let me know what you think is an option. here is a link: http://www.wholesalemn.com/product_info.ph...&products_id=35 Thanks all of you for fast response Charles

Guest
Linda, Meaning that I will be able to say E-Mail = 0 lbs and set free shipping to be available for 0 lbs items only. I hope I understand that correctly! THANKS AGAIN! You checking out the site? Cause someone clicked on that link... :)
Ajeh
Right. Each Attribute can have it's own +/- weight
Guest
Thanks linda... We should rename OS after you! Thanks for all your hard work!
Ajeh
Only good because the rest of the osC Team has written such a superb program. :D I like to tweak, debug, re-write, create add-ons, provide solutions, etc. The rest of the Team has to do the hard stuff.
