Recommended Posts

I am looking for hosting solutions of oscommerce, but I have no idea which one is reliable, secure and so on. I googled reviews of some hosting companies and they all have either pretty bad review or excellent fake good reviews. Please help! Thanks advance.

which country are you in?

for UK, good ones are smaller medium ones like evohosting, and ezpz hosting, where you get responses to your queries much better than with other bigger places.

im probably going to go with one of these. these are good, reliable and not like the big companies like fasthosts, and others.

Hi,

I have been using 3ix.org for a few years (US servers) pretty reasonable costs, some ups some downs but a great response from 24/7 help line always fixed any problems I had quickly.

I would say good for a start up business.

Thanks @@joli1811,

I care about server's up and down the most. I have been with TMD hosting for several years, which has this kind of issue all the time.

They seem to have had a security issue a few months ago, working fine the last few months it is always what you pay is what you get.

While there are hosting options that sponsor osCommerce here, I had the same problem about a year ago. I was pissed at my previous host due to email issues. Their "support" was to blame it on the osCommerce programming, despite it being a vanilla install. I switched to GoDaddy afterwards to resolve my email and support problems. Uptime seems excellent and I've had no issues since.

Might want to take Godaddy off your list of reliable sites, apparently they have been brought down, millions of sites, by a single user, AnonymousOwn3r, (not a collective Anonymous action), who is upset over Godaddy's opposition to net neutrality legislation, (or maybe upset over GoDaddy's owner shooting elephants.)

I really like bluehost. (www dot bluehost dot com It's a no nonsense company with good prices. It's a huge company with lots of backup resources, and you can always get them on the phone. They have the best cpanel setup, with options I haven't seen on other cpanels, ie 'unlimted ftp' and a great backup program. I have used them for 10 years, and just have no issues with them.
