Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) We are currently using the PayPal Website Payments Pro (US) Direct Payments module. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5659 We recently discovered that PayPal is not including the shipping tax in their total. PayPal is including the item amount, item tax, and shipping fee but excluding the shipping tax from the total that the customer pays. Within osCommerce all of these taxes are calculated and communicated properly. For orders that we ship within Canada we are obligated to charge GST/HST on the shipping fee. How do I pass the shipping tax value to PayPal for inclusion in the total? Thanks for any help you can provide. Edited July 18, 2012 by cinevate Quote
Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 @@cinevate Ensure the shipping tax is calculated and displayed BEFORE the GST/HST. PayPal should receive ONLY the total amount of the purchase from your osCommerce store unless you have PayPal set up to display all fields (shipping/taxes/total) Chris Quote
Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 @@DunWeb We currently have PayPal setup to display only the total amount of the purchase. Within an osCommerce order, where tax on shipping doesn't apply (everywhere except Canada) you will see the following in this order: Sub-Total: Shipping: Total: PayPal gets the total right in this case. Within an osCommerce order, where tax on shipping applies, you will see the following in this order: Sub-Total: Shipping: GST or HST: GST or HST on Shipping: Total: In this case PayPal calculates the total as everything minus the 'GST or HST on Shipping'. When I attempt to change the order in which the shipping tax and the GST/HST are displayed via the Order Total Modules > Sort Order, the tax disappears altogether. Here is the active Order Total Modules sort order: Order Total Modules Shipping 3 Sub-Total 2 Tax 4 Total 5 Any further suggestions? Quote
67Kombi Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 If you've not found a solution, try in the shipping modules (I'm using Canpar) I wasn't seeing tax on shipping. After entering applicable Tax Class , GST was processes. Quote
