How to Specify Ounces Instead of Pounds

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have cosmetics on my website. Most of it weighs less than 1 ounce. An example is .12oz. How can I tell OSCommerce that a product is .12 oz.? So it is a fraction of an ounce.

The weight is just a number, a plain number, you can call it kg, pound anything you like.

If something has a weight of 0.12, then just type into the weight field 0.12

Weight is used mainly in shipping calculations

Ok, I get that. However I have the UPS and USPS modules installed. If a customers cart total weight is .25 for example, is the UPS and USPS modules going to charge him for 4 ounces (1/4 pound) or .25 ounces?

I use USPS and found the following weight codes to help me:.01=1oz / .02=2oz / .15 = 3oz / .2=4oz / .25=5oz / .3=6oz / .35=7oz / .4=8oz / .45=9oz / .5=10oz / .55=11oz / .6=12oz / .65=12oz / .7=14oz / .75=14oz / .8=15oz / .85=1lb
