Product images have a border in Chrome

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm building a new shop using OSC2.3.1, and I noticed now that when I see the products in Chrome, there is a light grey border box around the products image, in both products using single images and also on products with several images.

I went to the demo page of osCommerce, and the issue is also seen there. Have a look here:

http://demo.oscommerce.com/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=28

Strangely, this box does now show anywhere else, not on the products listing, neither on Customers who bought this product also purchased, neither on Specials, reviews, new products, etc. Neither on the page showing the reviews:

http://demo.oscommerce.com/product_reviews_info.php?products_id=19&reviews_id=1

The main difference between the product_info and product_reviews regarding the images is the fancybox jquery plugin. On my site, I've updated jquery, jquery_ui and fancybox to the newer versions and the effect is exactly the same.

Everything looks good in FF13, Opera 12, IE 8, but not on Chrome 19.

Does anyone seen this issue before? Any ideas how to solve it?

Could it be something to do with the following code in the standard osc stylesheet.

#piGal ul {

list-style-type: none;

}

#piGal img {

-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 1px #000;

-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 1px #000;

}

#piGal .outer {

margin-left: -30px;

}

Thanks Steve, it was that.

So I changed to:

#piGal ul {
list-style-type: none;
}
#piGal img {
-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px #000;
-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 1px #000;
}
#piGal .outer {
margin-left: -30px;
}

Now I'm wondering why was that setting applied, and if I should put to 0 also on the -moz-box-shadow.

his is just a styling suggestion, you can remove the rules for shadows all together if you don't like them

I know, I was just surprised to see the differences between Firefox and Chrome, even though it should be the same.

I was developing the shop for around 3 weeks using FF, and have never seen the box... Anyway I tested the demo site in http://browsershots.org, which is really nice to see the differences between different browsers and different OS's, and what is even more surprising is that in previous versions of Firefox, the box appears but not on the last version...
