2.3 addon integration without file editing

Recommended Posts

From looking through existing addons, it seems that for an addon to be installed (for example, one to extend the newsletter function) the user must edit the php files to call the app. Am I correct in this assumption or is there a way to install addons without making the user edit their php files.

Editing of existing PHP file(s) is almost always required.

By definition an "addon" is something being added, and that is normally accomplished by changing something that is already there at least a little bit.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
