iPad (Safari?) checkout problems

Recommended Posts

I got informed of a problem with customers using an iPad are unable to complete the checkout process:

Spoke to a couple of customers about placing orders with an ipad. Both

stated that when they got thru the whole check out process the final "place

order" page took them back to the main page. My Brother came over & brought

his work ipad & I tried to place an order myself. I had the same issue. I

put all my info in, then credit card info & hit place order button. It

immediately brought me back to the home page. It said I had 1 item still in

my cart but would not let me place the order. This was using Safari (which I

assume most ipad users would use). I'm guessing that there is some kind of

conflict with Safari & OS Commerce.

In checking the boards I came across this similar issues with windows in the post

which lead me to check the sessions settings. I'm not technical but configure.php looks ok to me:

 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.bikes4families.com');
 define('ENABLE_SSL', true);

/** fancy product images slide show hack END **/

So then I found this post

Which lead me to believe it might have to do with the way Safari handles 301 redirects with cached pages. However, it seems to be kicking the customers to the home page and not a cached page.
