You did something wrong. The easiest way to find out what you did is find this line in includes/modules/shipping/usps.php:
// mail( STORE_OWNER_EMAIL_ADDRESS, STORE_OWNER, $mail_body );
and uncomment it, then go try again. You will get an email (or 4) that gives you the query and response. look through the response for error messages. If you can't figure it out, post the error here and I'll take a look.

My store location is www.houndcomics.com/store. I am using version 2.3.1 and USPS module v1.7_1 The module is installed and options enabled and when a customer goes to check out this is what they get:

This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order.

But this is all it shows with no rates shown. Any ideas? Thanks.

You are getting quotes for Priority Mail and Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box. If you have those services enabled in your admin you should see quotes, otherwise you will get what you are seeing.

I do have those two services enabled, as well as Priority International and Priority International Large Flat Rate Box, and all I'm getting is that same message:

What version of PHP are you running? This module requires PHP 5.3 or later.

I can't think of anything else that would cause the module to not display a perfectly good return quote.

Check your error logs for PHP errors. I can't do anything more without knowing what's going wrong. It has to be something interfering with the module since it is working on many other sites.

You have a lot of File does not exist warnings that need to be fixed. There are also a lot of incorrect timezone errors that are either caused by a misconfigured time zone setting in includes/languages/english.php or a bug in an old version of osCommerce. That might cause problems with the USPS module, although it shouldn't.

I really don't see anything obvious here. Try fixing all of those errors and see if that helps. They need to be fixed anyway.

This is going to take a bit to understand and try to fix, I've never done anything like this before. How do I go about fixing the time zone issue? I'm looking at the "referrer" url's and a lot seems to be resulting from the store. What's really odd is many of the errors are referring to .shtml files in the houndcomics.com directory and I have NO .shtml pages on that site. Why would the referrer pages be looking for those files? Also, in all of the errors that indicate x file on line #, do you recommend I manually go into those files and fix those line errors? The timezone errors can be fixed by upgrading to the latest version of osCommerce. Apply each version upgrade in order, one at a time. You should do this anyway as some of those updates are there to fix security holes.

Your host is set up to return a file named 404.shtml whenever the server encounters a 404 error, and similar files for the other error codes. You can usually change this in your host's control panel to require a different filename, but whatever file is called for must exist or you get another error. There is an addon available that contains the most common error page files.

If the error message points to a particular line number, that indicates the point where the PHP parser encountered an error. The actual error may be somewhere above that. If it's saying something about a wrong variable type or missing value, that value is probably being set incorrectly somewhere above that line. Those are usually due to incorrect changes from an addon, so check your changes in that file.

That helps a lot Jim. So I'll start with upgrading the osCommerce version one by one (will this alter any of my settings or custom files like graphics?). Then I'll look for that error page addon. Then go from there. Thanks again so much.

You need to apply the changes manually to any files that you have modified. You can only replace files that you have not made any changes to. That will preserve all of your customizations.

Hi, and thanks for this great add-on.

1) There is an ommision in catalog/includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/usps.php

add this line:

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_USPS_TEXT_INTL_SHOW', 'United States Postal Service - International');

2) Everything works, but I keep getting this error in the log. Any ideas?

1. Thanks for the bug report.

2. It's just a warning, so you can safely ignore it. The code is a mess, which is one of the reasons I'm writing a new module.

3. N = None, S = Show, H = Hide.

I just installed USPS Rate V4, Intl Rate V2

on OSC 2.3... as the stock module just stopped working. I emailed USPS and received a new account

thinking it was a change or that the account failed. The installation seems to have worked, and I see the USPS module in the

admin and the options seem ok... but when you go to checkout, this error comes up:

-2147219101 Missing value for Service.

Google only shows me some old error from 2007... does anyone have an idea as to what is failing?

Which version of the module? This one is the only version that works with the current USPS API. If that's the module you are using, check (with USPS) that your Web Tools account has been cleared for the production server.

That is the one I am using. USPS has emailed me an told me that the account is LIVE. I am still

getting the error...

-2147219101 Missing value for Service.

Any ideas?

Very few for now, First class Domestic, Priority Domestic, and Priority International.

Just a note, I went and deleted all of the possible options except priority mail, it still gives the error. The USPS logo comes up, but right under that is the error: -2147219101 Missing value for Service.

I have all four "display" options checked, and "Domestic Types have changed" is set to false, although I would think that

all options should work. I emailed USPS yesterday, they told me that the account was live and ready to go on the production

server. I am not sure why it quit working before, but I have uninstalled the old one and reinstalled this one again, and it

gives the same error. Hrm.

That is really strange, I just downloaded it, uninstalled the old one and isntalled it again. I am downloading this:
