essexboyracer
From what i've seen from my test install of OSC, the seperation between code and HTML isn't much, which would make styling a shop very time consuming. Has anyone (got/know of) any resources that can make this a far easier task? oli www.web-ridge.co.uk - Web Design & Development
Guest
I'm assuming that when you say styling you mean change the way it looks? have a look at www.boxes-bags.com, to change the style sheet and images took me maybe an hour! I can send you my style sheet and ammended images if you wish?
essexboyracer
I just get this feeling that MY site needs to fit into the way OSC feels, rather than the other way round (which is how it should be). I know it is a critisism of the OSC system and that i "should do a mod that addresses this problem" in the spirit of the openSource movement. I looked at the wiki docs on changing say colours and table widths and it all felt a bit like doing a hack into say vBulletin. i.e. find line 360, change this to that etc etc. Is there any way to seperate the code from the HTML as much as possible, so that a simple call to say <?php function show_cat_table($what, $ever, $here) ?> rather than a large block of code that defines a mysql statement within a main *.php file? OSC needs to 'wrap' around our existing site design, rather than the other way round... Am I missing something here of is this valid? oli www.web-ridge.co.uk - Web Design & Development
