Mort-lemur Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Hi, I am in the process of merging 2 sites and will be closing one down (and using the host space to develop my new 2.3.1 stores). I have produced a simple index.htm file informing customers that all products have moved to the other site, but this will not catch people who have linked directly to a product or category. What Im looking for is a simple .htaccess code that redirects all visitors to the index.htm file for 5 seconds (so they are aware of the change) then redirects them to the new area of the other site. Is this possible? Many Thanks Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... Guest Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 @@Mort-lemur, Heather, have you considered just forwarding the domain name to the alternate domain (301 redirect) ? Chris
Mort-lemur Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Hi chris - cant do that for 2 reasons 1) I want the customer to know they are being sent to our other store 2) I want to use the catalog area of that domain name on the existing hosting to develop my 2.3.1 site I have added the 5 second redirect to the index.html page - so all I really need is .htaccess code that will redirect all requests (other than catalog or index.html) to the index.html page. Thanks Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed .....
