Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Share Posted March 21, 2003 After installing USPS methods 2.4 it seems that my site is acting funny. Here is whats happened: When trying to log in, the page just hangs...never takes you next page. Maybe once in a great while, I can log in, but when I want to check out...again, it just sits there thinking... Here is an error message I got when tried to click on a catagory link: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tep_session_start() (previously declared in /home/hoot/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/sessions.php:67) in /home/hoot/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/sessions.php on line 66 I went into the admin panel, and the USPS shipping mod looks fine. Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Share Posted March 21, 2003 What version of osC are you running (snapshot date)? Odds are... you probably missed something in the code update. Its really easy to do with this particular contribution. Especially if you did the update manually. Linda McGrath turned me on to a utility called "Beyond Compare". It lets you compare 2 files side-by-side for the diferences between the files. It highlights all the the differences for you. Totally worth the $30.00 I paid for it. When I first installed USPS Methods v2.2, it took me a little over 4 hours. I just installed USPS Methods v2.4 successfully in less than 15 minutes with the use of Beyond Compare. Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Share Posted March 21, 2003 Im using the OSC version DL'd about 3/5/03 I used USPS methods ver 2.4 I followed the directions outlined in 'Method 2' Simply FTP'd the new version of the files. I really could use some ideas on what can be done...its for a customer of mine. Id be happy to PM the admin user/pw to do a quick look at some files. Thanks! Guest Posted March 21, 2003 Share Posted March 21, 2003 If you just FTP'd the files and replaced the originals... thats your problem. Did you happen to save the original files? Rather than just copying the files from this contribution to your site, you need to manually edit the specific files with the necessary changes, then upload the modified files to your site. This is especially true if you have already added any contributions to your osC store prior to adding USPS Methods. Anything you may have added is now gone because the files that come with the USPS Methods contribution does not contain your previously installed contribution changes. Follow what I'm saying?
