AaronHaach Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi everyone, ive got a website im working on, for University, its a project. I am using a very good template, but the CMS is VERY old and is in need of updating badly. Do i just download OsCommerce V2.3 and replace the admin files Via FTP? or is there more to it than that? Sorry for silly questions. :) Aaron
multimixer Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 No, it's a bit more than this, here is the ugrade guide You need to make sure what version your template is. Most of the templates are complete osCommerce installations. My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
multimixer Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 After doing the upgrade you will get something like a "hybrid" store, between the versions, but that is fine, since the template sould not be compatible with the 960 grid etc anyway Saying that the "CMS is very old", if it is really that old, you will need to do maybe several upgrade steps, so the question if it is worth? Could be less work maybe to remake the template on a fresh 231 My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
