stupid question before I go further

Got everything installed and figured I'd play witht he admin.

First thing I did:

Change the store name (obviously, right)

but

I changed the Store Name Key (define name) as well as the Value (define value)

Is it ok for me to change the Key?

Sorry for what is likely a very dumb question.

Also, anyone got a link to some substantial instructions?

Thanks!

I wasn't playing with the db. In the admin, it lets me edit the store name - it asks for a key (which is populated) and a value (which is the actual name and is also populated). I mistakenly changed the key value (which I think was

STORE_NAME

or at least I thought it was and changed it back.

From your response, I take it I could browse the db and find out.

Thanks so much for your reply.

So you're in the source code????? Have you installed the admin on a server?

There is no need to change the source in the admin unless you are adding a modification...all of your information will be stored in the database.

Please go to the wiki site I gave you and read the installation instructions there.

I'm not in the source - I am in the admin portion of the site. I do notice that when I look at stuff I've changed in the catolog, I see this:

This shop is based on Preview Release 2.1.

Is this ok for me to use? Is there going to be a final release for version 2.1? Did I install a beta?

I just wonder if it isn't the final release, will updating the store software be difficult?

I had actually found the instructions you linked to before installing. It just seemed to me that the instructions refered to things that I couldn't see in the file structure.

Weird.
