The e-commerce.

problem with browser sessions and logins

I kinda stumped on this, so any steering would be appreciated.

This is occuring on one of my sites using v2.3.1

If you open a browser and log in or create a new accout, everything works fine.

If you close the tab in the broswer or log out, then you can't log back in without

closing the browser entirely. This is causing some customers to request new

passwords, and then when they don't work...request another password and so on.

I am guessing it must have something to do with the browser session.

I have searched as best I can on the forums but can't see anything closet to this.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

check the config.php file settings, like cookies or sessions.

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

  • 1 month later...

After trying several versions of the configure file, the cure seemed to

be to set "recreate Session" to false in the Admin "sessions" area.

thanks for the pointers
