Rev0lt Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I've searched everywhere and found similar threads but nothing with my exact problem. I am running 2.3.1 with security fixes and have had the site up since June. I regularly check who's online to see how many customers are online but a few days ago, this function randomly stopped working. By randomly, I mean it will SOMETIMES work, but most of the time it will not load up. It doesn't come up with a blank page or error, it will just sit there with the hourglass over the mouse cursor, but nothing will happen. I tried overwriting both whos_online.php files with new ones from the osc 2.3.1 zip file from oscommerce.com, but the problem is still there. Any ideas? Thanks
rescuestat Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Same problem here occasionally, I've noticed some "less than desirable" urls ie: hack attempts in the last saved url. What I've done was to go into phpmyadmin and Empty(truncate) the whos_online table <- notice I said TRUNCATE don't drop the table. Sometimes a hack attempt is saved in the whos_online table and the format of the url plays havoc with the whos_online.php page during parsing. Hope that helps, Frank
Rev0lt Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks Frank. It seems to be working at the moment but as soon as it stops again, I will try that.
Rev0lt Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 Unfortunately, this didn't fix my problem. I truncated the table and immediately after checked whos_online.php. Still randomly "lags" out.
