Krisz1 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Dear All, I´ve been using OsCommerce 2.2MS2 since many years already. During this time I´ve added numerous add-ons without any issue aside of modifying some files. However, today I installed the Order Editor contrib. which allows me to create orders without any user input. First my problem was that when I created a new customer and assign them a new password, the app crashed asking me for a "passwordhash.php" file within admin/includes/classes. At first I was puzzled; then I realized that OsC changed the way passwords were generated and stored. I was able to get this file from a 2.3 installation, however every password created using this contribution doesn´t work when logging in from the frontStore. I think it´s logical, since a new file changed the algorithm. Is there a way to tell this contribution to just use the "old way" (tep_encrypt_password) for encrypting passwords ? (Asking the customer to restore the pwd using the forgotten link works to get a new one though). Thanks.
Krisz1 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 No comments on this topic? :( I had to tell users that they should ask for a new password with the "forgotten" link at login, but that´s not a very professional manner. Thanks.
Guest Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Christian, I suggest dumping your old MS2 cart and create a new cart using v2.3.1. There is very little support for MS2 and you will find that many of the add ons have been re-written for v2.3.1 do not work on the older versions. Chris
