raydona Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi, I am trying to install osCommerce 2.3.1 on my website. It just wouldn't connect to the database server. The error message I'm getting is: There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured: Access denied for user '.........'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Please verify the connection parameters and try again. For Database Server I've tried using "localhost", "mysql" and "mydomain.com". I thought I might have used the wrong Username, Password or Database Name. So I deleted and recreated the database but with no positive result. My web host is webhostingpad and they are of no help, just cheap. Their telephone customer support doesn't have a clue and their email support returns wrong information and takes too long to respond. I wonder if anyone can help. I would be very grateful and considerably less frustrated.
multimixer Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 The info about the DB server to use should be available somewhere at the cpanel Other possible issue could be that you need to use a prefix in front of name etc, eg kuku_mydatabase My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
♥geoffreywalton Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 If access is denied the server and db name have been entered correctly. I would suggest the user name is spelt incorrectly or the access for the user you have in your config file is insufficient or the pw is wrong.
