Elmo
Hi, I want to create an e-commerce store to sell used products and I plan to use paypal to collect the payments. Because the products are used products so the supply/quantity of each product changes frequently. I am wondering if it's possible to set it up in Paypal such that Paypal won't process the customer's credit card until I receive the email notification and approve the transaction? Because I don't want them to process the credit card until I am certain that I have the product in stock. Please shed some light on this. Thanks. Best regards, Elmo
mattice
Not sure if PayPal can do this for you but osCommerce is capable of substracting stock. It does this whenever an order is processed. So if you insert the correct amount of stock in the database chances are you're okay. Only scenario where this would fail is if someone was to buy the same item (of which you have 1) while the other is in the 3 steps checkout procedure. Very unlikely on medium crowded sites. Elmo
May I ask if you recommend people to use the 2.2MS1 version or the older 2.1 version? Best regards, Elmo
Guest
I strongly suggest that you use the 2.2 MS1 version because it is the must recent version and would strongly suggest you go read at http://wiki.oscommerce.com/Top HTH The_Bear
