All images gone AWOL from live site.

Can someone point me in the right direction to repair lost images? I cannot access them even using the url address. They are on the site and the permissions are OK. What checks can I try to get to the bottom of this ? The site had been working for months without problems.

did you check your configure.php files

 

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

Also you should check your web browser settings and see if you "accidentally" have blocked images from your own site to show.

Did you or your host add "hotlink protection" to your site, and forget to whitelist your store's domain or subdomain? I've seen that happen. Can we have a link to the store so we can see if the images are visible to us?

Thanks Guys I checked out your suggestions but finally tracked it down to a wonky .htaccess file in the admin. I don't know how it got corrupted, maybe someone from the dark side, but after correcting it we are running again. The site had been running for months without any bother then the images dissapeared
