Which discount coupon module to use? And a bit of help with it.

Hello, im looking to add discount codes to my site.

 

I found this one: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7397

 

However it says to:

 

 

1. Perform the SQL query to your osCommerce database.

 

ALTER TABLE `discount_codes` ADD `exclude_specials` TINYINT( 1 ) NOT NULL AFTER `order_info` ;

 

How do i do a sql query etc?

 

and surely i wont be able to alter the table if i dont have a discount code option yet

 

Which is the best to use if not this one?

That module have to be installed from version "1" and up...the very first one is the only complete one..the rest are updates to it....

 

so install the base version and then do all the updates one by one
