it means the site cant find / link to the database

two files to change

catalog / includes / configure.php

catalog / admin / includes / configure.php

add the database details to this file.

Hi

Thanks for the reply...but i am so new to this, wouldnt know where to start editing that file, is there someone on here that would do it for me?

There are people on here that will do it for money for sure.

It also means that you will be giving out your passwords and usernames to them so make sure it is someone you can trust.

You will find them by looking at their signatures, and profiles.

Ok thanks.....thanks for replying, i did manage to fathom it out and got some better results, but the original osc that i edited logos etc and products are not there, i gues the sql file on the server has changed since, is that where all the products and setting are stored?

Yes thats right its in your database. (logo on in 2.3 + versions)

The database you originally had should still be there so long as you have not overwritten it + you may well have a back up in the admin / backups folder on the store you downloaded to you desktop.

You can view databases from your web based control panel also so you would be able to see how many databases you have.

I would have assumed though if you downloaded the back up site then your configure files would still be there with all of the information you would need to reconenct to the databse.
