bassmaga Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I have a shop with many contributions. I upgraded 2.2RC2a step by step to 2.3 and then from 2.3 to 2.3.1. It seems to work ok (its no error in mysql). First problem: I don't have boxes. After upgrade I didn't have link to modules.php in admin>modules. When I insert it to admin/includes/boxes/modules.php I could make some changes but no results.
tgely Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Set php errors on to find problems. Add your shop for debug http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7705 remove and add boxes again. osCommerce based shop owner with minimal design and focused on background works. When the less is more.Email managment with tracking pixel, package managment for shipping, stock management, warehouse managment with bar code reader, parcel shops management on 3000 pickup points without local store.
bassmaga Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Set php errors on to find problems. Add your shop for debug http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7705 remove and add boxes again. Thanks for your replay I turn on the debug tools and have many errors. All boxes have error like this: Error Type: [E_NOTICE] Constant MODULE_BOXES_WHATS_NEW_CONTENT_PLACEMENT already defined On line 113 File includes/application_top.php -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Date / Time: 03-10-2011 15:20:13 Error Type: [E_NOTICE] Constant MODULE_BOXES_WHATS_NEW_SORT_ORDER already defined On line 113 File includes/application_top.php and one error in this file Error Type: [E_NOTICE] Constant JQUERY_DATEPICKER_I18N_CODE already defined On line 43 File includes/template_top.php Any ideas why boxes doesn't start? Maybe problems are in column_left.php, column_right.php becouse I have installed column controler for 2.2RC2a
Guest Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Kamil, Although the upgrade path to v2.3.1 from RC2a is written in detail for the CORE code, there is not upgrade path(s) for the contributions. Obviously, because v2.3.1 allows for the control of the column boxes from admin, you will need to remove the contribution Column Controller as it is conflicting with the new code for 2.3.1 Chris
bassmaga Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Hi Chris, Thanks for your help. I removed Column Controller and still don't have boxes. I wonder why after upgrade i didn't have possibly adding some boxes in admin panel, maybe this upgrade guide is not complete? 2.2 to 2.3 http://www.oscommerce.info/confluence/display/OSCDOC22/Upgrade+Guide 2.3 to 2.3.1 http://www.oscommerce.info/confluence/display/OSCOM23/v2.3.0+to+v2.3.1
Guest Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Kamil, Personally, I never upgrade versions I ALWAYS create a new website because I find upgraded sites become unstable. Chris

Chris This is a good solution for new stores, but I have a shop based on 2.2rc2a. It has many modifications and that is a problem when creating from the beginning. I suspect the transfer of the database from the old store to new also be a problem. I think that I insert column right and left like was in 2.2
bassmaga Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Thanks for your time. While I was doing upgrade I made a mistake. I copied new files from osc 2.3 instead of copy from Upgrade Guide. I found that files are diffrent.
