MOVING INFOBOX CONTENTS TO HEADER

I am using 2.3.1 and want to get rid of the infobox with categories, contact us, T's & C's etc for aesthetic reasons. I want to add these links to the bottom of my header, with a drop down from the categories, preferably in the same style and shape as the cart and account buttons on the header.

I have tried the header_footer_contents addition but this does not do what I want.

I have searched through the forums but can't find what I need, although I am certain there has to be a topic on this - i just have failed to find it.

Could someone please take pity on me and point me in the right direction. I should point out that my coding skills are almost non-existent - but you probably figured that out already!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello steve and thank you for that but I have been trying all day to get this add-on to work and I cant get it right. I just get the product categories in a vertical list on my header with a white background and it covers the breadcrumb line.

I really wanted to have a line of about 30 px height above the breadrumb with clickable boxes to information pages and product categories.

I don't know if i am just being immensely thick but I can't get this right.

If anyone can offer any constructive comments I would be most grateful. Failing that just send me a revolver and a bullet, maybe 2, the computer gets it first!

I finally gave up on the above add-on and the css horizontal menu templates I found on a web search - my coding ability is useless - I just couldn't get anything to work. I resorted to adding a table to my header and added links to the filenames for conditions, shipping etc within the table. So far so good, but I can't figure out how to get similar links to the categories in my shop.

Any suggestions??????
