PGelsman Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 My .sql database file is corrupted, what is involved in fixing it? Thank you, PGelsman justmanuals.com
multimixer Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Is this question meant for the forum? Of for your host? My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
NodsDorf Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Paul, you should try a repair to see if that fixes any results. From your cpanel in your database section there typically is something called MySQLDatabase in this section you can create users and assign them privileges to the databases. You can also check and repair databases.
PGelsman Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 My soon to be former host is Godaddy and they don't have cpanel. Any other thoughts? I am totally lost with this. I've got yet another problem with Godaddy. I can't access the OSC control panel. I go into the DB and truncate the administrators to empty it, then I go to my control panel link, input a new username and password, which it looks like it accepts, then I try to log in and get a server error, Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. TIA, Paul 4AM and haven't been to bed yet.
NodsDorf Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Internal Server Error usually has something to do with .htaccess but if you're getting to the admin panel far enough to add a new user name and password then it doesn't sound like the problem. As far as the corrupted database goes, GoDaddy has a Repair Table option I found.. not as efficient as repairing it all in one shot, but an option never-the-less. Ref: http://community.godaddy.com/help/5116 Run REPAIR TABLE on an affected table Log in to your Account Manager. From the My Products section, click Web Hosting. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch. In the Databases section of the Hosting Control Center, click the icon for the type of database you want to manage. On this page, you can create new databases, delete databases, make changes to existing databases, or export databases. To access more advanced management functions, click Manage via... next to the database you want to export. Enter your username and password for your database. Click on the table name of the affected table. NOTE:If phpMyAdmin is unable to display the table information, or encounters errors loading the table details page, another option would be to use the SQL button at the top of the left frame to enter your own query. You can repair the table manually by issuing the command REPAIR TABLE <tablename> in this SQL window. Click on the Operations tab at the top of the right panel. Click Repair table at the bottom of the right panel. This command can take some time and will block some queries, such as inserts, to the table.
PGelsman Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 I really hate to ask this, but how do I find the affected table?
Guest Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Paul, What error are you receiving from the database ? Godaddy doesn't have a 'cpanel' per say but does offer a SQL database repair function. Chris
PGelsman Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 Chris; I'm not getting any errors from the database. I finally received a call from them this afternoon. They are now running log files to try to determine my problems. I still don't have access to the control panel. Paul
