velvetpixel Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I am in the process of upgrading a 2.2RCa site to 2.3.1 and have some questions regarding how to deal with Add-Ons. The current site has some Add-Ons that modified the database of the 2.2RCa install to allow for their functionality. They are outdated versions of the Add-Ons. My upgrade path is installing 2.3.1 clean then installing the latest version of the Add-Ons on the fresh install. Then I will run the 2.3 sql upgrades on the 2.2RCa site database, then the 2.3.1 sql upgrades on that same database. Then I was going to point the freash 2.3.1 install to the upgraded database BUT here is my main concern. The core osCommerce sql upgrades probably don't account for the changes to the DB made by the old Add-Ons so will the part of the old database now not match what the freshly installed Add-Ons are expecting? Are there database table/schema changes between Add-On versions? The Add-Ons I am installing in the new version are: Header Tags SEO SEO URLs Easy Populate Margin Report Also the 2.2RCa site was using the More Images Add-On but 2.3.1 has that functionality built in. Does anybody know if the old DB fields/data for More Images will match up with the way 2.3.1 handles additional large images or will I need to do some export/import mysql magic to populate the new fields? osCommerce 2.3.1 Add-Ons Installed Header Tags SEO Ultimate SEO URLs Google Sitemap SEO Easy Populate QT Pro Margin Report AJAX Attribute Manager Smart Columns CKEditor OSCThumb Select Product Image Directory Category CSS Menu Enable Disable Categories Contact Form Captcha
