Barbara Carrera Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 so that a new one can be created? (password was protected with htaccess) I've tried a numerous suggestions from truncating the password in myphp to running a script - all to no avail? Still can not access the store admin tool. Thanks for any suggestions Barb
Guest Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Barb, If you have truncated the administrators table, then there is NO current username and password. You simply have to create a new one and then log in. If you have enabled .htaccess protection, delete or rename the /admin/.htaccess file so you can get to the store admin log in screen. Chris
Barbara Carrera Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks Chris, I'll give it a go. Perhaps deleting the htaccess file will do the trick (one step I have thus far not undertaken) as currently despite truncating the admin table I'm still getting the user/password input box. Cheers Barb
Barbara Carrera Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 Chris, That did the trick and I was able to log a new administrator, however when I tried enabling the new htaccess password things reverted to the old password box situation (in which the newly entered pswd did not work) Even when I tried copying the new encrypted pswd from the administrators table directly into the htaccess file it refused to comply. I eventually uploaded a new admin/htaccess file from the oscommerce package and at last it worked. Appreciate all your help. Cheers Barb
Guest Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Hi Barb, Your best bet is to upload a NEW copy of the .htaccess and .htpasswd_oscommerce files from the download to your hosting account /admin directory and then re-enable the .htaccess password protection from the admin area. Chris
