pejo Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 There seems to be no way around forcing customers to sign up for paypal in order to insure order data gets through (by redirecting them back to site after order is placed) From my reading it seems like IPN might be a solution to this problem. What are your thoughts? If this is the case what version of IPN should I use -The host I'm using only has osCommerce v2.2 MS2 installed.... Cheers, Pete. Quote
Guest Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Pete, Download v2.3.1 from this site and use PayPal credentials to ensure the payment process is completed. If you host does not support v2.3.1, change hosts ! Chris Quote
pejo Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 Changing hosts is not an option - I'm setting up the site for a friend of the family and he doesn't want to change hosts. I've about to install an older Paypal IPN meant to work with 2.2 MS2. Will this not work? PS - Kingston, ON here. Quote
Guest Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Pete, This is the only PayPal IPN module I could find that MIGHT work on the website. It may need to be updated as PayPal as changed some protocols since its creation. I would strongly suggest that your friend change hosting accounts and that they create a new site using v2.3.1. It is only a matter of time before ALL hosting providers update server software and leave out-dated versions permanently disabled. Chris Quote
