mcdrewblue Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Hello. I am fairly good with oscommerce as well as add-ons and modifications. My problem is fairly simple, although dispute digging around for days and installing contributions like QTPro etc I can not find a resonable solution to offering 'Window' products in my shop. I have 244 Windows each of which has a pricing matrix - the price is dependant on Width and Height. Each window has a seperate pricing matrix and the widths and length are not common between products. So grouping the window products as categories will not work (too many). I have tried using a width and height attribute and mess around with the price that way but this doesn't work either, especially as you can only plus or minus a price on each attribute which and not dependant on one another...So again there will be 1000's of attribute required.I can't believe that knowbody has built a shop which has multiple widths and height for a simgle product. Has anyone see this problem resolved before? I would be very gratefully for any advice of guidance on this guys :-) Thank in in advance Andrew
Guest Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Andrew, Have you considered an Area Calculator for this ? I realize the base price might seem 'odd' on your product listing pages but the calculated price would be more accurate and the only attributes needed would be color, fabric etc etc. You won't find an area calculator on this website but there are some available as commercial contributions if you Google for them. mcdrewblue Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Hello Chris. Thanks for your prompt reply as well as the chat help you gave. The Area Calculator is good, although i doesn't seem to fit with what I need. I have many windows in which, as example, one window can be sold by varrying widths and heights - Pricing matrix for one style of window (I have 244 different styles each with a separate matrix): 300w 400w 500w 600w 700w 600h 81 88 98 106 122 700h 93 101 109 119 132 800h 96 103 112 122 136 900h 99 107 115 124 140 1000h 102 110 120 127 144 1100h 106 114 123 130 147 1200h 109 119 126 133 150 1300h 112 121 128 138 152 1400h 123 130 140 148 163 1500h 127 136 145 152 168 1600h 130 140 148 156 172 1700h 133 144 151 159 175 1800h 138 148 156 164 179 1900h 144 151 159 168 183 2000h 147 154 163 172 187 2100h 150 158 168 176 190 Therefore allowing the customer to enter a m2 value wouldn't work. Ideally they would select the type of window, then select the size (from a drop down of width and another for height).Only the sizes in the table will be shown. This would then grab the price from the an sql lookup to a table similar to the one above. I am happy for the price change to be imported from Excel if this is easier than give an Admin UI for this. Does this already exist somewhere? Surely there are people selling Windows/ Picture Frames/ Furniture...who have this in place? I am grateful for your help with this :-)
