Providing postage 2nd class free, next days for £7 and 2nd class parcel ?

Recommended Posts

Looking at the standard shipping options they seem to be either flat rate, per item or based on weight, rather than type of postage which we need.

I need to get as close to below as possible:

UK Deliveries

Standard Delivery - Royal Mail 2nd class packet post FREE

Special Delivery - Royal Mail Next Day packet post £7.00 optional

Parcel Delivery - Royal Mail 2nd Class parcel post According to weight

International Deliveries

Royal Mail International signed for or Fedex According to weight

I see there are a few downloadable modules, but which is the best to go for considering our requirements.

Actually an option may be, if we scale everything down, to offer just 2 options: Free 2nd class Royal Mail postage within the UK, and a set £5 per Item for international, very much simplifying.

For this I would then need to change the wording for the 'flat rate' and 'per item' shipping modules, maybe someone can help me with this please, where would I change this text ?

Actually worked this one out, for future ref if anyone has the same issue:

change file at

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ITEM_TEXT_TITLE', 'International Per Item');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ITEM_TEXT_DESCRIPTION', 'International Flat Rate');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_ITEM_TEXT_WAY', 'Royal Mail International signed');
