Harald Ponce de Leon Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Hi All.. The forum software has been upgraded to its latest version and introduces a new theme and improved functionality. There is a current problem regarding avatars in the sense that the forum no longer distinguishes between avatars and profile photos ;- there's now just profile photos. Some profiles are displaying a missing profile image which we're looking into. The forum logo is also going to be replaced with a new white osCommerce logo. This should be ready tomorrow. If other problems are encountered, please report them in this topic. Thanks! , osCommerce
♥kymation Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 The PHP tags strip all formatting and blank lines from the code. Makes it pretty hard to read anything more than a few lines of code. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.

Harald Ponce de Leon Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Hi Jim.. Which post are you relating to? Kind regards, , osCommerce
♥kymation Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 This one. I fixed the second code block manually, then gave up. The code was pasted from Eclipse, where indents are done with spaces. It changed all the indents and removed all blank lines. Regards Jim Edit: I'm also not getting any notification of replies here. See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
jhande Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Sorry to step in here... But I can't find a link for our watched topics. Or is that feature gone? - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Hi Jim.. That option is located where your name is on the top right of the page, with the Content I Follow link. Kind regards, , osCommerce
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Hi All.. There seems to be a bug with the notifications. Can others confirm if they are receiving any or not for their watched topics/forums? Kind regards, , osCommerce
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Hi All.. The solution to not receiving notifications can be solved by clicking on your name on the top right of the page, My Settings, then Notifications Options. There you can define which delivery method you would like to be notified with. Kind regards, , osCommerce

jhande Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Hi Jim.. That option is located where your name is on the top right of the page, with the Content I Follow link. Kind regards, Thank you Harald for pointing that out. Guess I shouldn't be nervous and just go exploring links... - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
Xpajun Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 I've lost the dropdown on the bottom of each page for navigation between boards - the quick navigation is very slow to open and when it does you can only access half the boards - the rest are below the bottom of the browser window Quick summary: Browsing between the forum boards take 2-3 times longer than on the old board The only way to get to this board is to go back to osC Support forum link then scroll down and click My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0 I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 ) I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary
♥kymation Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Notifications started working again. Maybe checking the settings is enough, or maybe there was just a delay. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Hi All.. The forum software has just been updated again to the latest version which fixes minor bug issues (eg, the forum rules is now displayed correctly). Kind regards, , osCommerce
♥kymation Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Any chance of getting another theme choice? The faint gray text in this one is unreadable. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Hi Jim.. Unlikely. This is the standard theme that comes with the forum software. If you're interested in playing around with the CSS, please by all means go ahead and propose some improvements to make. Kind regards, , osCommerce
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Hi All.. The process that parses profile avatars to profile photos has been run again with the latest update and it seems to have fixed most of the missing photos. If there's a missing photo for your profile, please edit your profile and upload a new photo. Thanks! , osCommerce
♥kymation Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 If you're interested in playing around with the CSS, please by all means go ahead and propose some improvements to make. You probably want someone who's not colorblind to be making changes to the default theme. I can still do that, but don't expect the results to look good. There are hundreds of themes available here, and many of them are free. It shouldn't take too much time to grab a few and put them up for the users to select from. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Hi Jim.. I didn't mean for you to create a new design, but to darken the text colours you find are too light. Want to take a shot at it? It can then be installed as a separate theme titled ForJim :) (as an honor, not as a joke) Kind regards, , osCommerce
♥kymation Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 That I should be able to do. I'll go find the text specs and play with them. Firebug should make this easy. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
♥kymation Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The changes are available here (the file is too big to post.) Note that this may not work, as Firebug apparently combined multiple stylesheets into one. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Hi Jim.. Great! Will take a look soon. I just discovered this site that can compare css files so seeing the changes shouldn't be hard: http://www.alanhart.co.uk/tools/compare-css.php Kind regards, , osCommerce
germ Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I answered a few posts on my lunch at work and everything was fine. A bit later I couldn't even access the forum from work because of this error: Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917) I use IE8 at work, IE7 at home. Maybe it's been addressed already. I don't think it was my browser. I'll know in the morning.... If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Peper Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Nice work I see the search does not work properly When inside a topic, enter search word then it returns the same topic you in Getting the Phoenix off the ground
Harald Ponce de Leon Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Hi Jim.. ForJim is live :-) I only found 3 differences in the stylesheet you made. For more changes, forward the class name, attribute, and values and I'll add them to the template. Kind regards, , osCommerce
