jewelrydirect Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Hi Our computer has wiped all our old URL's which means that we can no longer locate the admin page for our website. Is there anyone that would know what the URL is for that? Thank you. Caroline
Guest Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Caroline, The default would be www.yourdomain.com/catalog/admin/ however if you changed the path, you will have to use your FTP client or hosting account file manager to find the correct path to your admin area. Chris
jewelrydirect Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Thanks Chris I can't recall that we have changed the path but that path takes me to HTTP Not Found so I guess we have to contact our hosting account file manager. Thank you. Caroline
Guest Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Caroline, If you have access to your hosting account, you can sign in and check the file manager (cpanel) to locate the admin directory name. You could also use your FTP client to log into the server and check the admin directory name as well. Literally, this process takes 2 minutes (if you have access to the hosting account) Chris
jewelrydirect Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Chris, How do I know if I have access to the hosting account? We set this up some time ago and haven't had any problems until now when the computer wiped the saved link. What does FTP stand for? Caroline
Guest Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Caroline, Obviously your store is hosted with someone that you make monthly/ yearly payments to to keep it online. Some popular hosting providers are Godaddy, Hostgator, Ipage, Blue Hosting, Just Host, etc etc. So, check to see who it is you pay for hosting, then contact them to gain access to your cpanel or FTP access credentials. satish Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 For security reasons most of the oscommerce stores owner renamed admin folder so as commented in above post you need to use FTP or file manager of your hosting and within catalog folder( or on root in case catalog was not used) search for some name similar to admin. Or you need to contact person who used to manage/code for your oscommerce. Satish Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site.
